If there were an award for "most unhappy teen on Wisteria Lane" Andrew would surely win. A tempestuous troublemaker with an alchol addiction,, a pot habit, a lack of moral conviction and a confused sexuality, Andrew has spent the first season creating problems for his family. When his parents announce their seperation, Andrew blames his mother. But after a fight with Rex whether or not he can live with him, Andrew drinks too much and accidentally runs over Juanita Solis. While other kids' parents would turn them into the police, Andrew's parents cover for him. And instead of feeling guilty, he just feels "off the hook."
Andrew is angry at everyone around him, but like most teenage boys, he takes out his anger on his mom. He yells at her, humiliates her in front of George, shoves her and even spits on her face!
It is only after trying unsuccessfully to disipline him on their own that Bree and Rex finally send him to a boot camp for troubled teens. Finally Andrew starts to confront his sexuality, but he is in for quite a ride-his religious mother believes he will go to hell, and tries to scare Andrew straight by quoting the bible. He pretends to clean up his act, making Bree think he's a good kid, secretly planning a rebellion so great it may destroy her.
