I grew up watching Lupe in numerous things.She's a latin icon in the acting world for us Latinos, so to be able to work with her and play her daughter-in-law was a dream. She's such a wonderful human being. She's heavily involved in Latino civil rights as wall so, you know, so we've known each other for a while through organizations like the NCLR and MALDEF. You always know people in the industry and to have chance to work with people that you've always admired is an awesome feeling. I wish Juanita didn't die.

Ricardo Antonio Chavira: Lupe is from El Paso, Texas, so it was great to work with another Tejano. She's got so many stories and so much work experience. She reminded me of all my tias, my aunts and my older cousins. There are so many women I grew up with that used to henpeck me, and tease me. She's like my tia Berta, beer drinking, cussing and smoking cigarettes, just a big heart and full of life. She demands you step up your game when you're doing a scene with her.
