                4 TABLESPOONS                    
unsalted butter, add more for casserole dish

              8 OUNCES (2 CUPS)
                elbow macaroni

                    3/4 CUP
        panko (japanese bread crumbs)

                  1 SMALL
              onion, minced

                2 TABLESPOONS
              all-purpose flour

              SALT AND PEPPER
                  to taste

                1/2 TEASPOON
                dry mustard

                  PINCH
            cayenne pepper

              1 1/2 CUPS
                  milk

                2 CUPS
      shredded sharp chedder cheese
