Marc Cherry: Sharon Lawrence came very close to getting the part of Bree. We ultimatley went for Marcia for a number of reasons,but I loved Sharon Lawrence's take on my words and I knew I wanted to get her onto my show. We put her in the part of Maisy Gibbons, the woman who Lynette goes up against, but then we decided to do a housewife hooker storyline. We were all talking about desperate things we've heard of housewives doing. I thought, Let's have Maisy revealed as the hoker. It all came out of my love for Sharon Lawrence and her talent.
