Mike Delfino
Back To Home Page
played by JAMES DENTON
"Mike's a good guy," says Cherry. "The fact that he's secretive is the only flaw he has, because he's such a tremendous human being. We needed to give him a couple of flaws to kmake it interesting. His secrets became the character flaws.

Susan and Mike seem made for each other. Both single and middle-aged, they know what it's like to have loved and lost, which is what first connects them in the vets office, when Susan realizes that it might take some time for Mike to get over his dead wife. "When people meet later in life," says Cherry, "they're going to have some history. That's what makes dating so hard. You have to decide how much of someones past you're going to deal with."
Thwarted again and again by Edie (or Mrs. Huber's blackmailing), they keep coming back to each other. It's a case of opposites attracting. He's serious;she's hooky. He's secretive;she's ridiculously up front. And yet (this is why we like him so much), Mike was the one who said "I love you" first, and kissed Susan first, and keeps coming back to her after he's been arrested to explain to her who he is. And after their end-of-season reunion, Mike may not only save Susan's heart, but her life.
