"Sometimes evil drives a minivan!"
Marc Cherry: We wanted to put a African-American face onto the show. Of course, the part was a very dangerous, malevolent guy. But we had a bunch of different actors, come in, and Richad Roundtree did a really good job at the audition. Also, he's Ricard Roundtree. We shot a hotel room scene between him and Nicollette, but when we saw the scene, it became how skimpy her underwear was and how great her body is, and it just got to be too much. We were also running long. Before that episode aired, the Monday Night Football scandal happened, so when people heard we cut the scene they thought it was because of that. But it wasn't.
Nicollette Sheridan: I had a love scene with Richard Roundtree that was cut off from the show. After he realizes that Edie wasn't the one who wrote that note, he follows her back to her hotel room. Cut to Edie coming outn of the bathroom in lingerie, igh heels and an Hermes whip saying, "you ready for round three?" She struts across the bedroom and climbs on top of him.
