This friendly neighborhood cop is a better womanizer than detective. Instead of taking the screwdriver Susan finds in Mrs. Frome's house to be dusted for prints, he asks Susan out on a date. Sher doesn't want to go because of Mike, but when she tells him about the date, Mike takes no intrest, so she goes. At first officer Thompson seems like a nice guy but after Susan challenges him for not running tests on the evidence, he calls her a pyscho. Realizing he is just another "Karl in disguise" she wanders off in the middle of the red light district, to be rescued by a definite non-Karl, Mike Delfino.
